How to Install Old WordPress version in your Live Website

0

Installing an older version of WordPress on a live website can be a bit more complicated than a fresh installation, and it's not recommended to use an old version of WordPress as it may have security vulnerabilities. However, if you must install an old version, here are some general steps that may apply:

  1. Create a backup of your live website, including the database and all files. This will ensure that you can restore your website if something goes wrong during the installation process.

  2. Download the desired version of WordPress from the official WordPress website.

  3. Unzip the downloaded file to a directory on your local computer.

  4. Connect to your website using an FTP client, and navigate to the root directory of your website. This is typically the directory where the wp-config.php file is located.

  5. Delete all files and folders from the root directory of your website, except the wp-config.php file and the wp-content folder.

  6. Upload the files from the unzipped WordPress directory to the root directory of your website.

  7. Go to your website's URL, and follow the instructions for the WordPress installation process.

  8. Import your backup database to the new version of WordPress

It's important to note that this process may cause some issues with your website's functionality, and plugin compatibility, so it's best to test your website thoroughly after making the change to ensure that everything is working correctly.
